On Friday December 18, Common Pleas Court Judge Otho Eyster sentenced three men for various crimes, according to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher.

Carlos L. Strange, II, 35, Marion, was convicted of failing to comply with the order or signal of a police officer for running from Patrolman Matt Jones, Mount Vernon Police Department, on May 2 at about 2:00 a.m. Thatcher said Strange was also convicted of aggravated vehicular assault and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol for seriously injuring his passenger as the direct result of driving the motorcycle with a blood/alcohol level of .166. Judge Eyster sentenced Strange to two years in prison and his driver’s license was suspended for five years.

Harvey Troyer, 57, Butler, was convicted of attempted gross sexual imposition for having sexual contact with a ten year old girl on January 8. Troyer’s 17 month prison sentence was suspended while he serves a three year term of community control supervision. Troyer was sentenced to jail for 30 days, and he was classified as a Tier II sex offender with a 25 year duty to register his address with authorities. Detective Sergeant Roger Brown, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, investigated the case.

Kenneth Lee Davis, II, 37, Mount Vernon, was convicted of obstructing official business for punching Deputy Ryan Burgess, KCSO, when Burgess was responding to a domestic disturbance call at Davis’s residence, on June 2 at about 1:30 a.m. Davis was sentenced to a three year term of community control supervision, and ninety days in the Knox County Jail. Davis must also successfully complete a drug and alcohol assessment, treatment, and monitoring. Davis will serve an 11 month prison term if he fails to comply with the conditions of his supervision.
