On Friday February 19, Common Pleas Court Judge Otho Eyster sentenced three men and three women for various crimes and violations of community control supervision according to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher.
Brian K. Rose, 37, was sentenced to a 15 month prison term for domestic violence. Thatcher said Rose struck his live-in girlfriend in the face and bit her on the finger on September 9, 2009. According to the indictment, Rose was convicted of domestic violence, in 2006, making his latest offense a felony. Sergeant Andy Burns, Mount Vernon Police Department, investigated the case.
On June 9, 2009, Trooper Neil Laughlin, Ohio State Highway Patrol, stopped a vehicle on Taylor Road for suspected drunk driving, and then he arrested the driver for OVI. Thatcher said the passenger in the vehicle, Brandon A. Williams, 32, Mount Vernon, was found in possession of a rock of crack cocaine. Williams was sent to prison for 11 months for possessing cocaine.
Tracy L. Fowler, 44, Mount Vernon, was convicted of deception to obtain dangerous drugs and sent to prison for 11 months. Thatcher said in 2006-08, Fowler allegedly filled overlapping prescriptions for Alprazolam, Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Lorazepam and Clonazepam written by doctors who did not know Fowler already had prescriptions for these controlled drugs. Sergeant Tom Durbin, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, investigated the case.
Christopher J. Litt, 56, Caledonia, was convicted of theft for taking miscellaneous tools valued at over $500.00 from an auction without paying for them, on August 22, 2009. Litt was sentenced to a three year term of community control supervision including a 120 day jail sentence that starts immediately. Thatcher said Litt will serve an 11 month prison term if he violates any condition of his supervision. Detective Sergeant Roger Brown, KCSO, investigated the case.
Kelly M. Ferenbaugh, 27, Danville, forged another person’s signature on an Ohio BMV Applicant’s Driver License Information form and she used the other person’s personal information on the form, on February 6, 2009. Ferenbaugh was convicted of forgery and identity theft and sentenced to a three year term of community control supervision including a mandatory drug and alcohol assessment and monitoring. Thatcher said Ferenbaugh will serve an 11 month prison term if she violates any condition of her supervision. Sergeant Tom Looney, Danville Police Department, investigated the case.
On January 15, Kimberley S. Lowe, 41, Mount Vernon, was convicted of altering a prescription for Oxycodone and attempting to have the prescription filled at a Mount Vernon pharmacy. Lowe was sentenced to a three year term of community control supervision and a suspended prison sentence. Lowe admitted today that she violated the terms of her supervision when she failed to stay in contact her Probation Officer and for testing positive for alcohol use. Judge Eyster imposed Lowe’s previously suspended 11 month prison sentence for the violations.
