On Friday February 12, Common Pleas Court Judge Otho Eyster sentenced four men for various crimes and violations of community control supervision according to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher.

Logan L. Hammons, 22, Danville, was convicted of aggravated assault for breaking the nose of a 25 year old male victim, on March 28, 2009. Hammons was sentenced to a three year term of community control supervision including a 60 day jail sentence that starts immediately. Hammons was also ordered to undergo a drug and alcohol assessment and monitoring as a condition of his community control supervision. Thatcher said Hammons will serve a 17 month prison term if he violates any condition of his supervision. The case was investigated by Deputy James Ferenbaugh and Detective Sergeant Gary Rohler, Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

Stanley L. Vail, 27, Sevierville, Tennessee, was convicted of a felony for failing to pay child support. Vail was sentenced to a three year term of community control supervision during which he must make all of his current child support payments plus payments toward a $22,000.00 support arrearage. Vail was also ordered to reimburse the Sheriff’s Office costs to transport him from Tennessee, where he was arrested. Thatcher said Vail will serve an 11 month prison term if he violates any condition of his supervision.

On February 15, 2009, Trooper Coby Holloway, Ohio State Patrol, found Aaron N. Taylor, 32, Mount Vernon, in possession of Adderall and Percocet pills during a traffic stop on Columbus Road. Thatcher said Taylor was convicted of aggravated possession of drugs because he did not have a prescription for Adderall or Percocet. Taylor was sentenced to a three year term of community control supervision including a 90 day jail sentence that starts immediately. Taylor was also ordered to undergo a drug and alcohol assessment and monitoring as a condition of his community control supervision. Thatcher said Taylor will serve an 11 month prison term if he violates any condition of his supervision.

On August 7, 2009, Michael L. Wallace, 22, Mount Vernon, was convicted of identity fraud and theft. Wallace was sentenced to a suspended 17 month prison term and a three year term of community control supervision. Wallace admitted today that he violated the terms of his supervision last December when he failed to contact his Probation Officer after he was arrested for petty theft. Judge Eyster imposed the 17 month prison sentence for the violation.
