Nine indictments were handed down by the Knox County Grand Jury on June 18, according to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher.

Deondre K. Brown, 31, and Courtney D. Nunn, 25, both of Toledo, face Trafficking and Possession of Heroin charges. Thatcher said on May 19, Nunn allegedly sold a quantity of heroin to a confidential informant working for the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. On May 24, Brown allegedly sold a quantity of heroin to a confidential informant working for the Mount Vernon Police Department. On June 1, when Nunn was stopped by KCSO deputies, he destroyed a cellular telephone allegedly used in drug trafficking activity. Nunn also faces a Tampering with Evidence charge. On June 2, when Brown was arrested by deputies, he was allegedly found in possession of over five grams of heroin. On February 27 Bradley C. Robison, 34, Fredericktown, allegedly sold eight Percocet tablets to a confidential informant. On March 1, Robison allegedly sold 32 Percocet tablets to a confidential informant. According to the indictment, the seriousness of the Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs charges is enhanced due to additional allegations that Robison sold the drugs in the vicinity of a juvenile, and the seriousness of the March 1 charge is further enhanced because Robison is accused of selling a bulk amount of drugs. Responding to an alarm in the early morning hours of June 14, MVPD officers caught Jesse J. Ervin, 20, Mount Vernon, hiding inside the Mount Vernon business Ervin had allegedly just broken into. Thatcher said Ervin was allegedly in the process of stealing one rifle and 15 handguns from the store. Ervin faces a Breaking and Entering charge and 16 counts of Grand Theft for the gun thefts. Detective Feeney investigated the case.

Jill B. Myers, 34, Columbus, is accused of Burglary for allegedly entering a Centerburg apartment and then assaulting a female resident. Deputy Lee Eppich, KCSO, took the report.

According to the indictment in 2011, Ronald E. Thomas, Jr., 51, pleaded guilty to attempted Gross Sexual Imposition, and as a sex offender he is required to register with the Sheriff of Knox County within three days of entering the County. Thomas is accused of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender for allegedly failing to register, on June 4. Deputy Dan Selby, KCSO, investigated the case.

William J. Cottrell, 32, Glenmont, was indicted on assault charges for allegedly causing serious physical harm to a male victim during an altercation in Danville, on February 22. Sergeant Dan Weckesser, Danville Police Department, investigated the case.

Thatcher said two defendants face felony Domestic Violence charges due to prior convictions for Domestic Violence, in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court. Lauretta L. Beltz, 55, Howard, allegedly assaulted a family member, on June 6. Beltz was convicted of Domestic violence, in 2003. Deputy Charles Statler, KCSO, handled the domestic disturbance call. Joshua A. Beeman, 20, Fredericktown, allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, on June 11. Beeman was convicted of Domestic violence last November. Patrolman Kyle Johnson, FPD, took the domestic disturbance call.
