According to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher, Ray L. Burkett, Sr., 36, was convicted of illegal assembly or possession chemicals for the manufacture of drugs and endangering children for possessing chemicals to “cook” methamphetamine in a Fredericktown residence, on August 26, 2011. Burkett was sentenced to a two year prison term. Thatcher said Burkett was convicted of endangering children because a ten year old child lived in the residence. Patrolman Nick Holdren, Fredericktown Police Department, investigated the case assisted by Captain David Shaffer, Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
