Magistrate Williams has been a resident of Knox County since 1987. He graduated from Heidelberg College, Tiffin, Ohio in 1975 with a B.A. in English Literature, from Central Michigan University with an M.A. in Health Care Administration in 1984 and from Capital University Law School in 1987.

Prior to entering the legal field, Mr. Williams was employed by the State of Ohio at the Orient State Institute as an administrator and personnel director from 1977 to 1983. Following graduation from law school, Mr. Williams was engaged in private practice with his father, Daniel M. Williams, and subsequently with the law firm of Giles and Williams until 1995, when he moved to the Knox County Probate Juvenile Court.

Along with his work in the legal field, Magistrate Williams was an adjunct instructor with the Central Michigan University Program of Graduate Studies, teaching health care law and administrative law, from 1988 to 2003.

Magistrate Williams is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Knox County Bar Association and the Ohio Association of Magistrates. He is a past president of the Knox County Bar Association. He is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and a former member of the Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club. He served as a board member and past president of the Knox County Board of MR/DD from 1991 to 1998. He has been married to his wife, Jill, for over 27 years and they have two children.
