NEW PASSPORT FEES, EFFECTIVE JULY 13, 2010
Notice has been received from the US Department of State that the cost to obtain a passport will increase, effective July 13, 2010.
For first time Adult applications, the cost will be $135.00. Minors (under the age of 16), will now cost $105.00.
To apply for the US Passport Card, first time Adult applications will now cost $55.00 and for Minors, the cost will be $40. The passport card was designed to meet the specific requirements of U.S. border resident communities. It facilitates entry and expedites document processing at U.S. land and sea ports-of-entry when arriving from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean region and Bermuda.
Knox County Clerk of Courts is your authorized acceptance facility, willing to help you with your passport applications. No appointment needed. No waiting.
Applications can be completed in the office. Bring your certified birth certificate, your 2x2 passport photograph and your photo identification.
Children under the age of 14 are required to have both parents’ consent, as provided by Public Law 106-113, Section 236.
The Clerk of Courts office is located on the second floor of the Knox County Service Center at 117 East High Street, Mount Vernon. The office is open from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
