The Knox County Board of Elections is made up of two Democrats and two Republicans. Board members are nominated by the County Central Committee Members and are approved by the Ohio Secretary of State. Each Board Member serves a term of four years. They are directly responsible for the election process in Knox County.

The Board certifies candidates and issues to the ballot in Knox County. Along with the staff, the Board provides information to the public regarding voter information, elected officials, candidates and candidate qualifications, campaign finance reporting, election results and much more. The office works closely with county elected officials including township trustees, village and city councils, clerks and mayors, school boards and state and national candidates and elected officials.

The county is currently comprised of fifty one precincts, twenty two townships, nine school districts, one Ohio House District, one Ohio Senate District, and one US Congressional Districts. The Board Staff can provide information regarding voter registration in Knox County which has a population of more than 55,000 residents and approximately 42,000 registered voters.
